Art Prize Terms

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ENTRY
The Youth Art Prize is open only to residents aged between 16 and 25 from the Gold Coast City and Tweed Shire areas. Entry is limited to ONE entry only per artist. Entries close at 5.00pm 3rd October 2014.
Entry must be original artwork by the submitting artist, not breaching any copyright.

2. ARTWORK SUBMISSION
Please submit an image of the artwork with the entry form as follows:
Digital images should be less than 2 megabytes, saved as jpeg.

3. PRE-SELECTION & DELIVERY OF FINALIST ARTWORKS
Artists pre-selected from the email entries will be contacted and asked to deliver their artworks to:
Gallery One (16.02 The Brickworks 107 Ferry Rd Southport QLD 4215) on the following dates for the finalist judging:
Saturday 11th October 11.00am – 3.00pm
Sunday 12th October 11.00am – 3.00pm
Deliveries cannot be accepted outside these times.

4. PRESENTATION
Finalist artwork entries must be framed and ready for hanging with string or wire. Stretched canvas is considered to be framed. Sculpture and works in other mediums are to be discussed with Gallery staff prior to delivering at Gallery One. If you are unsure, please contact the Gallery to discuss your entry
before lodging your entry form. Unsuitable works will not be accepted.

5. FINALIST ENTRIES
Must be identified on the back or base with artist’s name, phone number, entry title and price (if applicable). An Artist’s Statement and Biography must accompany the entry form.

6. FINALIST SELECTION
The finalist selection list will be notified and available online on Friday 10th October after 12.00pm and Gallery One will endeavour to contact all finaliists to advise of their selection.

7. FINALISTS EXHIBITION
The Finalists in the Youth Art Prize 2014 will be exhibited at the Gold Coast Mayoral Chambers on Friday 17 October 2014 during the Art Event & Art Auction 6 – 9pm. If a finalist entry is available for sale it will be offered on the night to guests attending the Art Event.

8. PRIZE
The winning artwork will be selected from the finalists by the Judges and may be awarded to any work in any media. The winner will be announced at the Gold Coast Mayoral Chambers on Friday 17th October 2014 at the Unique Art Event & Art Auction. The Judges’ decision is final and no discussion shall be entered into

9. ARTWORK SALES
All finalist artwork sales are subject to 20% commission with all proceeds going to Radfly in support of YHES House and Ohana For Youth.

10. RESPONSIBILITY
All transport costs, arrangements and insurance to and from the Gallery are the responsibility of the entrants .All care is taken but the organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to artworks at the exhibition or in transit. It is recommended that the artists insure their own artworks.

11. COLLECTION OF UNSOLD FINALIST ARTWORK:
Unsold finalist artwork must be collected on:
Saturday 18th October 11.00pm – 3.00pm
Sunday 19th October 11.00pm – 3.00pm
Exhibited entries may not be removed prior to these times.
